Description

Village Voice's Description

Bakery-cum-brasserie Balthazar turns out the best breakfast in town, a tour de force of baked goodies dubbed Le Panier. Varying by day, it includes the choicest morsels from the patisserie next door. Recently the basket contained a sugar-dusted brioche, chocolate bread, a fruit-and-nut focaccia, walnut cranberry bread, and best of all, a caramel roll with plenty of crunch.

If your steak tartare tastes just a wee bit different than usual, thank Philippe Bertineau, the restaurant’s new head chef, who previously cooked at Payard.

See and be seen when you’re dining al fresco at this SoHo staple. Just don’t be surprised if your secret convo ends up on Page Six - or on gossipgirl.net.

Restaurateur Keith McNally's enduring Soho brasserie. The best everyday restaurant in New York City. Period. Best dish: roast chicken for two. [Eater 38 Member]

Absolutely amazing. Order the appetizer Tete de Veau and the Goat Cheese Tarte for your entrée. I liked the Pork Belly the most. -Mattin Noblia, Top Chef
