Village Voice's Description

There are eight varieties of the Vietnamese sandwich called banh mi at Ba Xuyen, which moved across Sunset Park to comfortable premises with more than two tables. Our fave is heaped with meatballs, pickled veggies, and cilantro, and we always ask them to squirt on extra chile sauce. But maybe you'd rather pick sardine or chicken.

Tips from foursquare

Cheap and terrific banh mi (the meatball version’s best) on the northern edge of Brooklyn Chinatown, with ace coffee.

"A perfectly crisp baguette, chewy roast pork, fresh cold cuts and pickled veggies...Ba Xuyen's #1 ($4) has them all and more."

Unoficially, they’re the “Kings” of Banh Mi – better than everything in Chinatown. You can’t go wrong with any choice – try the Banh Mi with meatballs.

My favorite legit banh mi place around NYC. If you're going to eat it right away, get your sandwich toasted.

Try the avocado shake. It's icy and delicious.
