New York, NY 10002
Village Voice's Description
Slowly but surely, American Apparel is taking over Manhattan. The company focuses on the basics: AA's simple cotton clothes prioritize fit and material, and they're not produced in sweatshops, so they're politically sensitive, too. Those who balk at paying (relatively) high prices for tees and underwear need only to try these on to be convinced. Their aggressive retail strategy (so many stores in so short a time!) is a bit off-putting, though.
Tips from foursquare
This location has the most night-owlish hours in the city: until midnight on Friday and Saturday.
Nathan sits on the Orchard Street benches all day, and is the unofficial mayor of Orchard. Be sure to say hi!
THE WORST STAFF
It most certainly does smell like weed sometimes. Haha.
The biggest AA store I've seen in New York!
