Village Voice's Description

Agnanti, right off Astoria Park, is not your typical hummus-and-lamb Greek restaurant. Sure, those guys are there – along with dolma, yogurt, and plenty of feta cheese – but the authentic menu is made up mostly of enough ys and ks to let you know it’s the real deal: Kolokythokeftedes Mykonos (zuccini and cheese croquets) comes just before Tomatokeftedes (tomato and herb croquets), and both are renditions of the Greek classics. Throw in the saganaki, souvlaki, and a feast of seafood, and Agnanti is great place to find authentic Greek places in the city. Add the cozy atmosphere and casual vibe --along with a staff all too willing to help newcomers--and the off-the-beaten-path location becomes a non-issue. --Shane Barnes

One of the only true Greek experiences in New York. Slow service but worth it. Love the pastroumali, cheese saragli, Greek salad and daily specials. Great outdoor seating; it's right on Astoria Park.

They brought Kefte Mentite (chopped beef with yogurt patties), Ntakos (cretan rusk, tomatoes, feta cheese, olives, capers, oregano and olive oil), and Kolokythokeftedes Mykonos to Choice Eats 2009
