Village Voice's Description
The vibe is the Southwest by way of L.A., modern, breezy and as much about drinking and socializing as it is about eating. Low ceilings with exposed beams, slick adobe walls, cacti and polished steers skulls drive the Southwest theme home, as does the menu: Kobe beef fajitas, chile-crusted ahi tuna and blue corn enchiladas filled with chipotle chicken. There are smaller dishes as well, tacos and quesadillas filled with things like blue crab and carne asada. The wine list is small and affordably priced, but the real reason most people come here is the cocktails: margaritas made with fresh, seasonal juices, sangria splashed with tequila and more. Mexican beers and flights of premium tequilas are also available. Stop in during lunch for a special prix fixe meal, consisting of an appetizer, a main dish (including several sandwiches and quesadillas) and a margarita tasting.
Tips from foursquare
Not a meat eater? Chef Pang will whip up vegan tacos filled with tempeh, mushrooms and salsa verde for those not game on shrimp and steak. (And don't leave without trying the coffee flan.)
The guacamole is perfectly simple and flavorful. The cheese spinach dip is heavenly. The steak quesadilla? The best I've ever had.
Margaritas. Yes. Yes. Yes. Wonderful ambiance.
Check out the pre-fixe brunch, try the Huevos Rancheros or the Three Beef Hash. Or, sit at the bar and get a lesson about Tequila from the bartender. Service can be very iffy.
Solid brunch food plus unlimited margs (yeah, you heard me right) for $20/person. <3 salmon benedict, huevos rancheros, and mango margs.
