In the Venn diagram of health food and haute cuisine, ABC Kitchen is a conjoining factor. Celebrated chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten expands his culinary empire at this chic shrine to organic produce and seasonal cooking, located inside the ABC Carpet and Home store. Hungry shoppers can snack on roast carrot and avocado salad, or cavatelli with morels, peas, ricotta, and fresh chiles. More robust entrées include roasted Maine lobster with oregano and lemon-chile vinaigrette, and roast suckling pig with bacon marmalade and grilled baby leeks. And while the food is sophisticated, the whitewashed decor and plaid-attired staff allow for a casual, faux-farm feeling that makes enjoying this spot easy.

    Amazingly thoughtful locavore grub, elegant setting but not stuffy, impeccable service. Virtually a flawless restaurant. And Dan is super nice.
