Description

Village Voice's Description

It stands for 3 Legged-Dog. This 1000-person capacity art space is owned by 3LD Theater Group, and functions as a lab for original works in theater, performance art, and hybrid forms of new media storytelling. Over on Greenwich Street, just blocks away from Ground Zero, it became one of the first theaters to rebuild downtown when it opened in 2006, and remains one of the few standing creative spaces in the otherwise artistically sparse Financial District. By the same token its easily accessible by various convergent subway lines nearby, and an ideal destination for some happy hour theater once the 9-to-5 crowd has cleared out. Three studios and a gallery space are available for rental.

Merchant's Description

3-Legged Dog exists to produce new, original works in theater, performance, media and hybrid forms. Working out of a strong literary tradition, our mission is to explore the new narrative possibilities created by digital technology, and to provide an environment for our artists to create new tools and modes of expression so that they can excel across a range of disciplines.
