New Saigon has been holding down this spot on South Federal for decades. It's usually packed with regulars who fill the tables and suck down soup, noodles, grilled meats and excellent curries off a huge menu. The Vietnamese coffee is sweet and comforting, the massive bowl of hoanh thanh tom cua bo vien-- a noodle-less Vietnamese everything-in-the-pot soup - perfect for a long lunch or early dinner. It could take a person years to get through everything on this menu - but it sure would be fun to try.
Right when I walked in, I saw this huge display of Boba drinks on the wall and I absolutely love Boba. It looked delicious. I was seated and served within less of a minute of walking in, there is plenty of seating and it has a good atmosphere. The menu is written in both Vietnamese and English easy to read they have a huge menu filled with yummy, flavorful food. I suggest ordering the Catfish sautéed in green onions it is really yummy!. It was the special for Tuesday. The fish is very tender and drenched in a delicious sauce so the waitress told me. You should also try their noodles or Pho pronounced Fuh, I even asked myself if you call it Fo it is disrespectful to them. Make sure to pour in the provided sauce into the noodles and stir to really give it a kick. The noodles have a nice mild sweetness. Also, You MUST try one of their special smoothies made with real fruit and with added boba. The mango flavor is delicious but very sweet I recommend it. The service was not very good, the waitress was kind of rude, but she was very busy. I know being a waitress must suck but throw me at least one smile please. All in all the food was DELICIOUS and HIGHLY AFFORDABLE meals, also I would highly recommend the softshell crab appetizer it ‘s finger licking good. The portions are huge-the prices are small who isn’t happy with that. I give this restaurant 4 stars, not for the service but for the food it is to die for the best Vietnamese restaurant in Dever,CO.
Awesome Vietnamese food!
This place is amazing. Anything you get is bound to be good.
Picking the Best Vegetarian Dish in a Non-Vegetarian Restaurant for the Best of Denver 2012 was a tough task. The owners of omnivorous restaurants have really gone above and beyond lately to cater to... More »

What's your favorite shrimp dish?" my friend asked our waiter. He'd been standing beside our cramped booth, shoulders slumped, holding a small notepad in one hand and studiously avoiding our eyes while we studied the huge menu and sucked down... More »
New Saigon is one of the oldest Vietnamese restaurants in Denver, and its kitchen is one of the most comprehensive, turning out not just pho, but hundreds of dishes from Vietnam's culinary canon. For ... More »
New Saigon may not be the oldest Vietnamese restaurant in town, but it comes close -- nearby T-Wa Inn opened in 1984, beating New Saigon by just a year. Current owners Thai Nguyen and Ha Pham took it ... More »
The book-like menu at New Saigon is dizzying, an ocean of letters and numerals with a whole bay of vegetarian options. But we always land on 10N, Bun Tau Hu Xao Sa Ot, located under the noodle bowl section and highlighted in red. Described simply as "stir-fried tofu with lemon grass noodle bowl," this peanut-topped dish is a tangle of thin rice noodles, carrots, mushrooms, snow peas and thin strips of crispy, savory tofu. While New Saigon's fried rice and cari chay curry are also good... More »
After more than two decades, New Saigon is still the indisputable champion of Vietnamese cuisine on the Front Range. And not only is it the best, but it's the biggest -- at least in terms of its offerings. The menu here is a veritable tome: page after page of Vietnamese dishes offered by Thai Nguyen and his wife (and chef) Ha Pham. The roster includes such specialties as head-on shrimp stir-fried in spicy sauce; goat cooked with lotus root; whole fish, deep-fried; whole crabs, lobster... More »
Back in the day, this stretch of Federal was called Little Saigon because it was the neighborhood most densely populated by the recently arrived wave of post-war Vietnamese immigrants. Not surprisingly, these newcomers to the Rocky Mountain West brought some of the flavors of their old home with them and began founding authentic Vietnamese restaurants among the strip malls. A lot of Vietnamese restaurants. And though many have since closed and successive generations moved out beyond the old... More »
The only bad Vietnamese food is no Vietnamese food, but the best Vietnamese food being done in Denver is coming out of the kitchen at New Saigon. With hundreds of choices on the menu, dozens of sauces, a friendly and accommodating staff, and plenty of talent in the galley, anyone with a taste for the cuisine of the mysterious East is sure to find something to like at this perennial favorite. And while you're enjoying your spring rolls, nuoc cham and blazing hot curries, you're also getting a... More »
At long last, we found a better Vietnamese restaurant than New Saigon, one with even more than the hundreds of dishes this place offers, one with even more deeply flavored sauces, one with an even more welcoming attitude. To get there, hop on a plane bound for Saigon. Get off and start walking... More »
Denver has a number of decent Vietnamese restaurants, but New Saigon outshines them all. Although service remains a crapshoot and the tidy, simply adorned place isn't going to win any awards for innovative decor, the Vietnamese dishes that come out of the kitchen are unsurpassed. Choose from hundreds of entrees --many variations on a theme, with the kind of meat making the difference -- and then expect to get nothing but the best, from the egg and spring rolls to the garlic-kissed frogs'...
