Description

With the lone exception of indie pop, Nectar Lounge has become one of Seattle's foremost venues, boasting national and local acts repping genres from soul to world music to hip-hop. Nectar's nachos (served with plenty of salsa, herbed sour cream, and guacamole) are good in a pick-your-food-to-match-your-drink way, and its plain cheese pizza is winningly simple. Two apps are like dinner for two, though you can also order sandwiches and salads to up the sophistication level (or calorie count) of your meal. Don't forget to try the excellent, not-too-sweet pear martini while you bask in the friendly atmosphere of the bar's front patio.

  • 2011 | Best Hip-Hop Venue

Fremont's Nectar Lounge has continued to book some of the city's--and country's--best hip-hop acts thanks to local label Members Only's involvement. The cozy club is almost as good during the winter months as it is when the patio's open, and multiple bars ensure your thirst is taken care of. Nectar in Fremong is a good place to see classic reggae. And, their patio is the best when it's hot outside in Seattle.

I have celebrated two birthdays at Nectar by "renting" out the top floor during a concert - the inside-scoop though is that they rent it for free! You just have to give ample notice (about a month). Look at their concert calendar, pick a show and throw a private party - how fun!
