If you’ve got a case of the Mondays -- and know what cult comedy that reference is from -- salvation is at hand. The Denver Film Society and Twist & Shout are joining forces for a weekly Music and Movie Trivia Night. Every Monday, starting tonight, the Sie FilmCenter will offer a chance to use your knowledge of such things as Wes Anderson movies and Guided by Voices B-sides to win valuable prizes.
“I was like, [here’s] this kick-ass movie theater that’s also right next to a kick-ass music store. Why don't we try to cooperate and try to do some really good trivia?” explains Ryan Oestreich, director of the Sie FilmCenter. “We [both] have a very knowledgeable, fun, kind of creative staff, and they get excited about this sort of thing.”
Teams of up to four people will compete, and the final round will offer a chance to boost each team's tally by wagering accumulated points, Jeopardy style. Winners will take home prizes including gift certificates to one of the two locations, a bar tab and more. Best of all, it’s completely free.
