Specializing in the fast foods and street foods of Mumbai, this sleek little restaurant hits it out of the park. There are many New York spots for dosas and chaat, but Mumbai Xpress is unique in its single-mindedness and scope - there are about a hundred dishes offered, ranging from the familiar (samosa chaat, masala dosa) to the relatively obscure (misal pav, tokri chaat). Prices are low, and most items are made to order-pakoras are crisp, the flatbreads hot off the griddle, the bhel freshly mixed. Don't miss the Sichuan paneer sandwich, the vada pav or the chiku milkshake.
