Is there an Irish pub on the planet that doesn't have an oversized Guinness sign? Mulleady's complies, but its Irish pubness is of the restrained, family-friendly, burnished-wood variety, not the Eurodisco kind filled with disintegrating furniture and sloppily drunk sports fans. The food takes a step up, too, with properly light fried halibut and chips, burgers with fig jam and caramelized onions, and plump knockers with cheddar sauce and kale-laced mashed potatoes. The quality can plummet during playoffs and Saturday-night rushes, but in general, Mulleady's is the kind of pub you can take a date to.
