I had a little shiver run up my spine when I heard about this Moroccan emporium. I pictured cheap brass and mirrored pillows, but the stuff at Motif 56 avoids connoting props for a theme-park Moroccan restaurant. The housewares are elegant (and surprisingly inexpensive) and the various odds and endsa bags for men and women, jewelry, what have youaare all well chosen, making this store a bastion of good taste on a street where that's still sorely lacking, gentrification or no.
