Description

Tucked away in Galveston's historic East End, Mosquito's clean-lined, uncluttered Pottery Barn decor is in sharp contrast to the ocean of Victorian gingerbread that surrounds it. Even more surprising is its menu of healthy salads, generous bowls of pasta, and trendy sandwiches with grilled eggplant, zucchini and portobello mushrooms. Despite a bank loan officer telling the owners they would never succeed without a deep fryer, there's not a french fry in sight, and the cheerful cafe does a bustling business.
