Operating out of a large space on Washington Avenue, Mosaic offers an upscale (read: dress to impress) atmosphere. The "modern fusion" menu means these are not the typical tapas that one may be accustomed to. Options include herb gnocchi, limoncello mussels and lobster-and-crawfish risotto. Mosaic also has late-night lounge hours for those looking for an after-dinner drink.

This restaurant - referring to the one on Manchester not downtown...has horrible customer relations - atleast my experience was very disappointing. They failed to note on our giftcard that reservations were mandatory for Sunday brunch. Was not on the fine print nor anywhere else on our paperwork. We drive 30 minutes to eat brunch and are refused at the door. RESERVATIONS ONLY - I look around the restaurant and more than 1/2 of the tables are empty. I asked to speak with the manager - after a short wait he appears and its like talking to a wall. He just cant seat us becasue the kitchen couldnt keep up. We are four adults - we shouldnt be that much of a burden. He tells us maybe he cant fit us in at 2pm (FOR BRUNCH) I got the feeling that becasue I wasnt dressed a certain way and carrying a certain purse that I was tossed to the side. Doesnt sit well with anyone, so i felt compelled to write this review so that anyone else who was considering this place would know 1) reservations are mandatory and 2) they dont care for middle class individuals.
They have really nice dishes with gourmet appeal and affordable prices.
I travel a lot with my family, and I still have yet to find a place I like as much as this one. Crazy to think I have been all over the U.S. and to Jamacia, Key West, and the Bahama's and nothing compares. My favorite dish would be the short ribs and the beef tenderloin. The atmosphere is amazing for downtown St. Louis and service is great.
