According to one website, as of 2004, the most popular tourist attraction in Boulder, CO was the house used for exterior shots of Mindy's home in the popular '70s television show Mork & Mindy. Another site lists the Mork & Mindy House ahead of the JonBenet Ramsey debacle on a two-item list of Boulder's "better-known features." We are shocked and appalled by these assertions, and curiously intrigued. We know that popular culture - especially when presented through the boob tube and featuring the antics of a young Robin Williams - holds a grip on our nation's collective conscious, but we had no idea that it had gotten this bad. Visitors to the residence at 1619 Pine Street can't even go in to the house (the interior shots were on a Paramount set, anyway); they have to merely stand outside and gawk. But gawk they do, and their fascination with a house used only for exterior shots on a series that folded after only four mediocre seasons causes us to wonder: What has this country come to, and when can we go see this place? That Robin Williams is really funny.
