Miyako is your typical sushi place. There are chefs at work in the open at the centerpiece sushi bar, there's shoeless Japanese-style dining rooms available, and there's a popular happy hour. From 5 to 7 p.m., patrons pack the dark dining area for rolls, tempura items and sides, most for under $5. Though they don't use premium liquor, at $4, the martini-style cocktails and mojitos are still dangerously cheap during happy hour. The sushi chefs make a point of getting to know the regulars.
