The menu of this wildly diverse diner - on a strip in Coney Island that a friend of ours described as "The new Bowery" - extends to burgers, Italian pastas, egg breakfasts, wraps, club sandwiches, and even Salvadoran food, but its heart is in southern Mexico. Check out the chalkboard to find daily specials such as a superb spare ribs in green sauce (the sauce tart and homemade), or turn to the regular menu for good cheese enchiladas, chorizo tacos, and Tex-Mex burritos and fajitas. The excellent Salvadoran pupusas, big as a dinner plate, turn out to be like huaraches turned in upon themselves. The spacious and well-appointed rear dining room comes as a shock, though almost no one ever uses it.
