This is a Japanese market and food court where you can buy bobble-headed Hula dolls and good-luck cat erasers alongside sushi plates in bulk. When you get to the food court, try the mouth-friendly noodles, sushi or the tempura.
Mitsuwa is continually bringing us tastes of Japan in the form of limited-time special items, and this one caught my eye. It's the Ice Cornet, a swirl of soft-serve ice cream inside warm bread shaped ... More »
It's still going on. You still have two days to get your fill of the Japanese food festival at Mitsuwa Costa Mesa known as the Umaimono Gourmet Fair. A warning: some items are expensive. One stall is ... More »

You could eat by yourself anywhere and still manage to look inconspicuous. But at the Mitsuwa food court, you'll blend into the crowd like a needle in a haystack full of needles. Throughout the room, they have long, curvy, bar-type tables and raised stools set up for this very purpose. And because this is a food court, you don't have to suffer the indignity of ordering from a waitress and being subjected to judgmental stares. Plus, you have five different vendors to choose food from. The tastiest is Santoka, one of the best ramen shops in the county. Also, there's a Chinese stall that does dim sum รก la carte and an Italian Tomato, where you can buy cakes by the slice for about $4.
Good selection of food items or if your in the mood for making sushi.
Great spot to go to for Asian food. It's great if you are in the mood to purchase stuff to make and roll your own sushi.
