Description

Since it first opened in 1996, Mission Burrito has made a name for itself serving big-as-your-bicep burritos filled with fresh ingredients and that much has remained the same. These days, however, the original location of the chain now offers a range of other dishes, from tacos (on flour, corn or low-carb tortillas) to its famous Que Mas salad as well as a lineup of great Mexican beers and excellent frozen margaritas to wash them down with. As an added bonus for parents, its playground out front is irresistible to the kids.

  • 2010 | Best Salad

Despite all the fabulous burgers and enchiladas Houston has to offer, sometimes you just gotta sneak in a salad. Our go-to place for salads is none other than Mission Burrito, where we just can't quit that Que Mas salad. For any of you Yankees, youngsters and nonnatives, "que más" means "what more," and the salad is a veritable treasure chest of ingredients -- greens, potato, corn, roasted red peppers, jicama, tortilla strips, cheese and the meat of your choice (we like shrimp).... • 2000 | Best Kids' Meal Toys

Day care has left you broke, but still you have your pride. You hate the fluorescent-lit, Formica-table fast-food experience. You don't want the kids to eat rubbery deep-fried poultry by-products. And please, no more of those offensive, licensed-character-du-jour Happy Meal toys. What you need is Mission Burritos on Alabama. Grab a table on the oak-shaded patio, and leave your adult dining companion to watch as the kids frolic in the grassy fenced yard. For the rugrats, order the kids' meal;... More »
