Description

This casually elegant restaurant/bar (which also has a small market component, in case home cooks run out of black beans or decent soy sauce) is the only place on South Beach to go for dim sum lunches -- small plates of dumplings and other Chinese snacks served from rolling carts. But the Hong Kong-style cuisine offered at dinner is equally tasty, and far more authentic than most Miami Chinese food. For traditionalists BBQ ribs are big, meaty, juicy, succulent specimens; house-fried rice is packed with shrimp, beef, and chicken; and homemade won ton soup, with translucent shrimp won tons floating in delicate but full-flavored broth, far outshines the standard, wimpy stuff found in most restaurants. Diners seeking more creative fare must not miss wok-baked lobster, butterfly-cut and sautéed to perfection with veggies in homemade black-bean sauce full of whole preserved beans. Light yet rich mango pudding is a refreshing, sweet finish
