Description

This soothing little room with its elegiac mural of a Saigon street is the perfect respite from Village shopping. Among the Vietnamese dishes with (pricey) Parisian polish, regulars choose the enormous bowls of vermicelli topped with marinated and grilled meats or shrimp. The crisp fried egg rolls are a must; they're stuffed with pork, chicken and seafood, with lettuce leaves and mint for wrapping and a mild nuoc mam sauce for dipping. For dessert, try the bananas - fried or flambéed - and don't miss the potent Vietnamese iced coffee.
