Serge Becker is hoping that he can do for Jamaican food at Miss Lily"s what he did for Mexican at La Esquina. That is, give it a clubby home filled with beautiful people. Unfortunately, glam and glitz often come with culinary disappointment. The food--especially the over-marinated red snapper ceviche and bland ackee dip--doesn"t do much to recall authentic island living, although the jerk chicken is moist and flavorful. Reggae records adorn the walls and blare from the sound system, and the brightly colored space is inviting, surely, but better for cocktail tippling than dinner.
