Every Tue., Wed., Thu., Fri., Sat. until April 15 @ The Gallery @ Fox Tax

Where does functional design end and fine art begin? Anyone who has been to a modern-art museum's gift shop or a specialty furniture store knows that the line drawn between the two is often tenuous at best. The ways in which art and design inform, intermingle, and play off of each other will be examined in "Space," the Gallery @ Fox Tax's latest exhibition. The group show, curated by Twin Cities artist Jesse Draxler, features pieces by locals whose talents straddle both of these fields. Erin Gorvin draws inspiration from street art, which is evident in his clothing, typography, and book making. Michael Cina's pieces feature bursts of color, reminiscent of a multi-hued Rorschach test. Angelo Pennacchio, who is also a vocalist for the band Umami, creates collages and landscapes that stun the eye and mind with the impossibility of their existence. Eddie Perrote's vibrant prints and mixed-media offer plenty of details to catch the eye as well. There will be an opening reception from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, December 14.
