City Pages's Description
Sen Yai Sen Lek (Big Noodle, Little Noodle) is a new Thai restaurant located squarely at the happy intersection of "authentic" and "accessible." Bold, bright, spicy, sharp, challenging flavors dominate the food, but the decor is warm, spacious, modern, and inviting. Even the menus are clearly written and elegantly laid out. Sticky rice (or Isaan) dishes are particularly rewarding, playing aggressive flavors against the calming influence of the rice.
Tips from foursquare
The Po Pia Tod appetizer is crisp and fresh and their daily curry special promises to be a filling, flavorful entree served with rice and a bonus Thai omelet
Expect service to be slow. VERY slow.
Voted Best Thai Restaurant in City Pages 2010 Best Of Issue. Sen Yai Sen Lek not only proudly sources its menu items from local producers, but also pays close attention to its environmental practices.
Get the sensational curry and great desserts!
Try the laab gai: it brings the zing of sliced lemongrass to the forefront, with the nuttiness of toasted rice powder to temper the flavor.
