This latest venture from Kim Bartmann, proprietor of Barbette and the Bryant-Lake Bowl, is Minnesota's first LEED-certified restaurant. Fortunately, this information isn't pushed on diners: A supper club should be fun, not educational. And that convivial, old-school supper-club aura has not been lost here, despite the modern touches in the room and on the seasonal menu. The small plate menu features a pleasing chop salad with pomegranate seeds, Gruyere, and puffed wild rice. Entrees include everything from duck with house-made butternut squash ravioli to a six-ounce flatiron steak with potato puree and broccoli rabe. It may not be the supper club of bygone days, when multiple generations of families settled in at group tables for the night, but the Red Stag is at least as inviting.

    No cheap. But the breakfast was one of the best I have ever had. I had a fancy crab cake thing.. It was unbelievable. Must at least try this place once!

    There's something sad about a pale French fry. That little slice of potato was brought close to reaching its potential of crispy goodness, and then denied. Lost to incorrect oil temperature, overcrowding, or some other laziness in preparation, and often over-salted in a sad attempt to compensate for its limpness, a light-colored, sub-par fry is always a disappointment.
