Pig & Fiddle
Minneapolis, MN 55410
- Daily 4pm-1am
City Pages' Description
The folks behind Muddy Pig bring an old-country pub to the 50th & France neighborhood, with nearly 40 beers on tap (including lots of local craft brews, heavy on the Belgians) and comforting Eurofare like pierogies, potato pancakes, Alpine rabbit stew, and crispy seared bone-in peasant chicken breast with creamy braised cauliflower. The atmosphere is welcoming and relaxed, especially if you can manage to snag a spot in front of the fireplace. Make a it a point to go for dinner on Mondays when Pig & Fiddle offers a date night special. $40 will get you a starter to share, two entrees, dessert, and a glass of wine or a pint of beer for each of you.
Tips from foursquare
P&F's highly descriptive beer menu stocks more than 14 Belgian bottles, like the tasty Cantillon Organic Gueuze. The old-timey tavern menu offers peculiar tastiness like Welsh rarebit.
If Frank is serving...don't ask, just drink it. Trust me.
Frank the tank recommends the best brew! He is AWESOME!
The grilled cheese is to die for. The caramelized onions and asparagus ate a perfect touch!
Tilburg's Dutch Brown Ale is good, very good; and this Milwaukee-Chicago girl hates most beers!
