City Pages' Description

Some like it because of all that parking and the fact that you can always get a table while suckers wait in lines at Quang; others just like it because it's got the best pho west of the river. Whatever your position, there's no arguing that Pho Tau Bay is as authentic as it gets. Rice paper rolls are available in standard varieties, but there's also a refreshing, almost Cuban-tasting one made with Chinese sausage, shredded jicama, and a haunting, licorice-like dark green herb. Weekend specialties like curried periwinkle have no local competition whatsoever, and if you develop a taste for Pho Tau Bay's bright green tapioca with taro and coconut cream, you'll be delighted to realize that they're open Tuesday through Sunday from 9:30 in the morning till 8:30 at night for your takeout needs.

Low prices, warm people, super soup! The principal is if it exists, it can become soup and what a soup it becomes! Don't be afraid of the names of the soup or what might be in each dish. Trust me fish balls are just friends you have not met!
