City Pages' Description
Pat's Tap, the new gastropub from restaurateur Kim Bartmann (Barbette, Red Stag, etc.), offers plenty for diners as well as drinkers. You'll find a killer roast chicken and other entrees, but your best bets are usually from the snack and burger side of the menu. Duck burgers, goat cheese fritters, and other goodies pair perfectly with an exceptional list of microbrews. Bring a roll of quarters for skee ball or a game of pool and don’t miss the late-night happy hour where appetizers like pork belly skewers, fried pickles, zucchini cakes, and the fabulous cheese curds are just $5.
Tips from foursquare
Solid snacks: good fries and homemade potato chips that are damn near as addictive as the homemade Cheez-Its that arrive before your entree.
The cats name is Buster. In case you were wondering.
Free skee ball (and their name is a palindrome).
You seriously must get the fried pickles. You'll probably want another order immediately after the first. They're that good.
Pat's serves craft brews and food amidst a playful backdrop of vintage mechanical skee ball machines and pool. Food-wise, try the grilled cheese with Taleggio, fig, arugula, and apple.
