Pardon My French - CLOSED

City Pages' Description
Pardon My French is an authentic, bona fide, French-owned bakery-cafe dropped into the middle of a suburban strip mall, between a dry cleaner and a Jiffy Lube. The chef-owner, Frédéric Klein, is a French native who came to Minnesota to work for his half-brother, Patrick Bernet, chef-owner of Patrick's Bakery & Cafe. After spending several years as Patrick's executive pastry chef, Klein opened his own sunny casual café. Pardon My French looks like a wealthy suburbanite's living room filled with large glass bakery cases, teeming with all manner of affordably priced muffins, croissants, cookies, opera cakes, napoleons, fruit tarts, sandwiches, and éclairs. The best savory dish is the tart flambé, an Alsace-style pizza. The desserts--especially the feuillantine praline chocolate or passion fruit cakes, appear perfect enough for a food stylist's photo shoot and taste just as good as they look.

The radish portion of the crudité had a weird texture. The other person in the group had the huge bowl of scrambled eggs and toast. The egg was rubbery and dry on top then gloopy and mushy on the bottom. He didn't enjoy it. Coffee was tasty and bottomless for a good price. This place offers live entertainment on the weekends; i'd seriously like to explore their wine cellar at happy hour (3p-6p) firstname.lastname@example.org
Tips from foursquare
Quiche Lorraine, coffee and a Napoleon are a perfect way to start the weekend
it's a must to leave with pastries
This place is now out of business. Of course, they didn't mention they were going under in less than 2 weeks when they sold me $75 of gift certificates and didn't announce it until it was too late.
