City Pages' Description

A sweet, tiny, glowing south Minneapolis noodle shop with a Hawaiian accent, Midori's is a peaceful haven in a hectic world. Perfect for a quiet conversation over chewy udon noodles and fresh Japanese salads, Midori's stands out among local Japanese restaurants because of its generous portions of home-cooking style comfort food and its authentic touches. An impressive tea menu, expansive vegetarian options, and serviceable sushi bar round out the experience. Of course, the Hawaiian spam sushi is not recommended, but if you needed someone to tell you that, you probably already inhabit your own floating world.

Tips from foursquare

  • Heavy Table on 05/20/09

Tempura udon is a pleasantly balanced and relaxing choice, and the restaurant's gorgeous "art teas" are a novel treat.

  • Emily W. on 09/07/10

Food was excellent and reasonably priced but service has been VERY slow every time I have been there. Not a place to go if you are in any kind of a hurry.

  • Kenneth A. on 08/07/13

Be patient. Good thing are worth waiting for. Accidents happen when you're in a hurry.

  • FoodStoned h. on 06/22/13

    The beef gyoza are delicious.

  • Kim P. on 09/11/11

The Shiitake mushroom soup is delish
