  • There's a scene in an episode of Girls in which Hannah, the protagonist, makes a speech to her two besties about the individual qualities that make them each so amazing. "When I look at both of you, a Coldplay song plays in my heart," she concludes. This statement resonates with anyone who has experienced that sort of spontaneous soundtrack-of-your-life moment, and for me that happens...

  • Though I much prefer grocery shopping to clothes shopping, when I do have to look for new jeans or a party dress, I tend to gravitate toward the clearance rack. It's inescapable: I come from a long line of thrifters, garage salers, and vintage enthusiasts, the kind of people who wait until Tuesdays to make a trip to Goodwill so they can score their tchotchkes at a 20 percent discount. Upon entrance on ground level, the place looked very cool. The basement is where all the action is. I am going to do this plain and simple. The food was ok. The apps & sides were better than the main course. The (male) service member who waited on us was slow, opionated on everything, and forgetful. Is it worth the money? No. That's MY opinion.
