Tips from foursquare

  • HISTORY on 04/19/10

The original installation was constructed from 1820-1824 as Fort St. Anthony. It received its name upon its completion in 1825 in honor of Colonel Snelling, who commanded the regiment that built it.

One of Minneapolis' great historical locations. Love the views!

Little House on the Prairie is excellent! Four days packed with authentic pioneer life straight out of the Little House books.

Really awesome day out, great views, lovely staff, very good explanations of what the fort was for etc. Especially good talk from on the local native american population and "indian wars".

Go there this weekend, they have on display F4 Phantoms, F16's, Mustangs, C-130s, and a number of armored vehicles to climb around.
