Description

City Pages' Description

Some may call it a dive bar, but the Cedar Inn is more accurately described as a delightfully small-town sort of spot, located in the heart of South Minneapolis. Expect a friendly crowd of locals, some seated on a picnic table out front when the weather's nice, as well as checkered decor, typical bar fare and affordable beer and wine. Also expect to be offered the beer list if you ask for a rum and coke -- Cedar Inn, like many establishments in the neighborhood, does not serve hard liquor.

Tips from foursquare

This is an amazing townie bar smack-dab in the middle of south Minneapolis. Enjoy the Nascar light fixtures, the juke-box and indulge in some onion rings & frosty mugs of beer!

Gotta do the wings. Nuff said

  • Joe S. on 07/16/09

Best wings I've ever had. And I've had a lot of wings! Buffalo and Asian are both amazing. They are full 3-joint wings (drummy, winglette & wing-tip) so order accordingly.

Best. Chicken. Ever! The wings are huge - go for the Asian sticky wings. Cheap beer and fresh-cut fries round out the deal...

  • Andi R. on 11/24/12

Asian sticky wings are amazing and huge. The fresh cut French fries are the way to go. And Greg and Weezie are super nice people!
