Cafe Maude at Loring - CLOSED

Minneapolis, MN 55403

City Pages' Description

The popular Cafe Maude in the Armatage neighborhood has opened a sister restaurant in Loring Park, in the utterly transformed space once occupied by Nick and Eddie's. The new outpost boasts the same casual atmosphere and sophisticated food and drinks, though several items are new to the Loring Park menu. The bar program, headed by Adam Harness formerly of Town Talk Diner and Chad Larson, is outstanding. It's a major draw for the this branch, which will need to cater both to a younger audience and a big-time Sunday brunch crowd brought to them via the Walker and Basilica. Dinner hits lots of high notes: Try the fried quail with pancetta and corn, bone marrow appetizer, steak frites with truffled fries, and our favorite, the "brick" chicken with apricot.

Tips from foursquare

I love the Mac and Cheese with bacon. It is worth a try.

  • Jerry H. on 12/29/12

    One visit was enough.

  • Paul W. on 12/29/12

We had to wait a long time for someone to take our order. Maybe it's because we were sitting in a corner booth.

  • Rob d. on 06/06/13

Slowest service ever, inexplicably taking a half hour to put a sandwich in a box. Avoid if you're on a schedule.

  • Alla I. on 03/31/13

North African spiced lamb and beef flatbread with Aleppo, halloumi, parsley and walnut yogurt.
