About a year after Arvada's Brickhouse Nightclub closed, Salmineo Martin -- or Big Sal, as he's known in the professional wrestling community -- took over the spot and completely remodeled it, putting in a new stage, dance floor and lighting rig, and he gave the place a black-light theme, making it one of the few spots in town to do that. In keeping with its name, the Mind Benders' decor is a bit of a trip. Almost everything in the club is black-light-reflective, from the carpet and the airbrushed murals to the pool tables. Even the waitresses sport neon fishnets, so their legs will glow while they're walking around. The club brings in live bands on the weekends and has DJs during the week.
