Located on a busy stretch of Federal Highway, the Ale House is perhaps Lauderdale's leading go-to spot for pitchers, wings, and big games on huge TVs. Backing up these sports-bar staples is a full lunch and dinner menu boasting items such as whole Maine lobster, a variety of signature burgers, and more than ten salad options. Though the place typically draws enough people to create stadium-sized roars during games, there are plenty of booths, high tables, and barstools to accommodate every rump in the cheering crowd. On off nights, the Ale House is a relaxing place to shoot some pool, have a couple of brews, and talk strategy for the next big matchup.

I like this place. I go to the one in Davie FL on University just south of I-595. I have never had a bad food experience. One time, the server was very inattentive. She was more interested in flirting with a table of single guys than checking on my wife and I. This happens every so often. The servers are painfully unaware that my wife and I have money and, with me being in the business, we tip very well for good service. 25% is a bottom tip. Anyway, my last two visits featured some really good items off the menu. The fish tacos are excellent. They would have been well-served to have some sour cream and/or guacamole as an accompaniment, but maybe it is available on request. The fish was cooked perfectly, the tortillas were fresh and pliable, the veggies very crisp. The beans and rice were a great accompaniment. On my most recent trip, I tried something indicated by a "new" indicator on the menu. I may have the name wrong, but it was something like The Key West Citrus Chicken Salad. It was awesome. A very crisp and cool salad with kind of a southwest bent. Corn, Black Beans and Tortilla Strips are mixed with traditional Salad Items and tossed in a Balsamic Vin. It is topped with Grilled, Sliced Blackened Chicken that is drizzled with a Key Lime Sauce. Very good. My only complaint is that the draft beers are a little on the expensive side. I had a Blue Moon and it was $5.25 for what appeared to be a 16oz glass. That seems a little steep, especially at lunch when they look like they could use some more business. Other than that, it is a great place to eat.
