Ghost B.C. on Nameless Ghouls, Satan, and ABBA

DJ Shadow at Mill City Nights, 5/2/13

All things being equal, DJ Shadow is better as his job than you are at yours. Thursday at Mill City Nights, the former Joshua Davis drove that point home tenfold with a 90-minute set of songs that wer... More »

    DJ Shadow

It's hard to believe that we're almost 20 years removed from DJ Shadow's breakthrough MoWax single "Lost and Found (S.F.L.)." Not just because abstract, downtempo instrumental hip-hop still seems like a pretty contemporary development, but... More »

    Toots & the Maytals

Out of all the acts who got their chops in the '60s as ska transitioned to rocksteady and finally to reggae, Toots & the Maytals are easily one of the greatest. They'd already released dozens of 7-inch singles by the time of 1969's Sweet and... More »

    Garbage / Io Echo

Returning last spring from an eight-year "indefinite hiatus," Garbage essentially picked up where it left off: '90s-era, post-grunge alt-rock. That proved to be more a template than a formula on the comeback album Not Your Kind of People. The... More »

This is the worst venue that I have EVER been to (and I have been to a LOT of venues).

I just saw Jane's Addiction here for the Brick grand opening. They oversold the show by about 800 people. Line of sight is non-existent for about 600% of the crowd (though it might be more. The layout is terrible and you could not even see the stage from most spots in the club. You would be best not going here, ever to see a show. Seriously, it is THAT bad.
