La Crema de las Empanadas
Doral, FL 33122
Miami New Times' Description
There are lots of restaurants in Miami to choose from. Some succeed and some disappear without as much as a sound. La Crema de las Empanadas is one that has stuck around this somewhat fickle city to provide some of the tastiest soups, bakery items, sandwiches, and entrées in town. La Crema also offers a pretty sweet deal for your finances, filling your belly without emptying your pocket. There are small bakery items such as tequeños (breaded cheese sticks, $1.60) and soups ($2.99 and up) such as the extremely popular mondongo, a beef tripe stew. Entrées consisting of chicken, beef, or pork include four sides and a glass of juice ($6.50 to $8.35). One of the best main plates is ropa vieja, marinated, shredded beef served criollo-style (Spanish tomato-based sauce) with rice, beans, salad, plantains, and a glass of juice ($6.50). La Crema offers dine-in service, but its bread-and-butter is take-out because of the limited space. Proof that good things indeed come in small packages.

Good food selection and variety. Good service, but kinda slow, and don't seem to pay much attention to cleaning tables and floor after the rush, it looks messy.
