Miami New Times' Description
One reviewer called this place "so nice they named it twice." Bangkok Bangkok is synonymous with good Thai food. Its an institution in both Kendall and Coral Gables. Servers with charmingly coy smiles are efficient but never shy away from friendly chitchat, and they carve a fresh, whole, fried, chili-sauce-covered mackerel (a signature dish called "Little Big Man" $18.95) with such skill youre left wondering if they moonlight as Shaolin monks. With entrée names such as Neptunes Nemesis (whole mackerel in a sweet-and-sour sauce) and Earth, Wind, and Fire (chicken, shrimp, and beef mixed with veggies and cashew nuts), the place might seem a bit hokey, but after one bite of any dish, youll approve. Try the duck curry ($15.95), roasted in a spicy golden sauce complemented by green peppers and pineapple. Or pop in for lunch, when fried rice and a spring roll are free with every meal.
Tips from foursquare
The food is excellent.....
lunch special M-F. pretty much everything under $10- includes soup or salad and a spring roll.
If you have a small party, I recommend the floor section ... Comfy and intimate :)
Vegetarian option: volcano tofu. Sweet and tangy flavor, not overpowering. Perfect portion. Pair it with a thai tea.
Love that you can choose level of spiciness from 1 to 5 stars. 2 is hardly mild, and I've heard 5 can KO even the most resilient.
