  • Smash Mouth

    By Saby Reyes-Kulkarni | Thu, January 08, 2009

If a band exists solely to keep the party going — as California's Smash Mouth clearly does — it makes perfect sense to catch that band in a tailgate-party setting before a huge football game. For this appearance, Smash Mouth takes a detour from it... More >

  • The Doobie Brothers

    By Saby Reyes-Kulkarni | Thu, January 01, 2009

Ahhh, the sweet sounds of classic Seventies California pop. No one has ever embodied that sound more than the Doobie Brothers. And now that the style the Doobies perfected has become a musical archetype (see modern artists such as The Autumn Defen... More >

I like traveling to Miami. I actually enjoy the humidity. I like the feel of Florida in general -- very different than Milwaukee.

Entering its 21st year of operation, Dolphin Stadium, originally known as Joe Robbie Stadium, was the first of its kind to be constructed entirely with private funds. The late Joe Robbie led the financing campaign to build "Joe Robbie Stadium"(JRS) for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). JRS revolutionized the economics of professional sports when it opened in 1987. Inclusion of a Club Level, along with Executive Suites, helped to finance the construction of the stadium. Season ticket holders committed to long-term agreements and in return they received first-class amenities in a state-of-the-art facility which is still used as a model for new facilities across the country.

Home of the Miami Dolphins, Florida Marlins (for now), and newly acquired Miami Hurricanes. The stadium's under construction, but will be ready for the next Super Bowl in 2010. The club level is already complete with an absurd amount of flat screen plasma TV's, a welcoming lounge area, and a variety of food and drink choices. Come see the Marlins compete in the NL East, as this young team makes a run for the playoffs, the Phins who are coming off an awful season, and after the selecting #1 in this years draft, they can only get better, and the mighty Canes who transfer to this stadium, after closing out the Orange Bowl last season.
