Description

Veteran restaurateur Youssef Nafaa has created an authentic taverna and tapas bar where guests can party late into the night. With lots of dark wood and wrought iron, it's the perfect place to watch flamenco dancing on weekends. The menu is extensive and features traditional hot and cold tapas like tortilla española, mushrooms sautéed in sherry, potato croquettes, sautéed shrimp in garlic sauce and grilled octopus, to name just a few. Andalucia also serves wonderful paella and the best and strongest sangria in the city.

The food in general was average, however, there was one dish that missed the mark completely. The mussels were not acceptable. After noting the issue with the waiter and being dismissed, the full tab was paid. On the way out I asked to speak with a floor manager. I was introduced to a gentleman named Mike, who introduced himself as the owner. I expressed my concern with respect to the mussel dish, at which point i was informed that the dish is how it is supposed to be served. I expressed further concern that the mussels appeared to have been previously frozen or otherwise not alive when cooked. I was told that is my opinion. It is my opinion, and in my opinion if the owner of the restaurant is not willing to do anything about a not good and potentially unsafe dish, I am not going back, to any restaurants owned by Mike, including Mia Bella, which I've always had good experiences at.
