Tucked away in a strip mall just north of the bustling Delmar Loop, Mi Ranchito has proven so popular that it has expanded to nearly twice its original size. The lengthy menu features many of the standard Mexican dishes, from burritos, tacos and enchiladas to even heartier plates of carnitas and chile colorado. Mi Ranchito is especially well known for shrimp dishes and mammoth margaritas. Most fast-food joints now offer a 99-cent "value meal." But where's the value in a small serving of food you wouldn't serve your cat? For a real value, check out the lunch deals at Mi Ranchito. From 11 a.m. till 2:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday you can choose from nine combination meals -- tasty versions of the usual suspects: enchiladas, tacos, burritos and more served with rice and/or beans -- for only $4.75. The cost still too high? You can get the "Speedy Gonzales" combo (an... More »
