Resist the temptation to take a serious sit-down meal at Mezcaleria Oaxaca, the young offshoot of Ballard's phenomenally popular La Carta de Oaxaca: The dining room's crowded and the slow-roasted goat -- along with many of the other more ambitious dishes -- is frequently disappointing. But eaters who nab seats at the bustling kitchen counter will discover the handmade white corn tortillas are fabulous, and the mezcal list is long.
