Just south of USC in downtown L.A., this cheery market, a project from Esperanza Community Housing Corporation, is home to many little restaurants and vendors selling soccer gear, Yucatecan wares, aguas frescas, jewelry -- even insurance. Mo-Chica may have moved (Ricardo Zarate is opening a new restaurant in the space soon), but you can still find Chichen Itza's outstanding tacos and Oaxacalifornia's freshly made sorbets. —Amy Scattergood
