For years the big question regarding bakeries around town has been about who has the best cake doughnut, but we predict the trend is going to swing back to the raised glazed and no one in Minneapolis does that better than Mel-O-Glaze. Sticky and sweet on the outside, fluffy and puffy on the inside, Mel-O-Glaze has been making their signature doughnuts for decades. Only in the last ten years or so did they decide to start catering to their ever-growing Minnehaha Creek-area clientele by adding espresso drinks, but all the best things here are the classics like the old-fashioned buttermilk doughnut and the sinfully good apple fritter.
