Description

This modest mainstay of the Elmhurst cheap eats scene provides voluminous and mind-bogglingly cheap meals for around $5. These include a mountain of white rice, plus your choice of four dishes chosen from a steam table of 36 selections and spooned up for you by attendants. There are fried fish in profusion, shrimp, steamed greens with garlic, kim chee, soy-braised chicken, deep-fried eggs (!), and assorted stir-fries. As an added bonus, claim your choice of soup or soda. The vast range of ethnic types among the customers at Mei Wei Kitchen is reason enough to visit, suggesting there's nobody that doesn't like Chinese food.

There, you can depend on everything being turned out fresh--new tubs... More »
