Sometimes, you pick a place for its location, and this brewpub has a good one: a block away from Seattle Center on Lower Queen Anne. You're going to the theater, a concert, a festival at the Center? How about a stop at McMenamins before or after? McMenamins may be a Northwest chain, but this location still manages to have a certain amount of charm, with its shadowy English pub atmosphere (tall wooden booths, faded floral wallpaper). The menu has burgers, fries, jambalaya, mac and cheese, fish and chips -- and it's all done with a down-home quality and style. And let's not forget the craft beers, such as popular McMenamins standards Hammerhead Ale and Terminator Stout.
