At McCormick's -- an outpost of the McCormick's & Schmick's chain in the elegant Oxford Hotel -- you can easily forget that you're more than a thousand miles from a coastline. The restaurant's extensive menu features a ton of fresh fish, prepared plain or fancy, as well as steaks, salads and more land-locked entrees. And the already fabulous bar adjoining the dining room is made even better by the super-cheap happy-hour menu.
The current happy-hour menu at the McCormick's Fish House & Bar in the corner of the Oxford Hotel may not seem as much of a bargain as the legendary "cheap time" that denizens of LoDo remember so fond... More »

Everyone knows about the great seafood at McCormick's: the daily airlifts of fresh fish, the weekly and seasonal specials, the talented kitchen that's there to put everything together, the terrific dining room and bar spaces tucked into the corner of the classic Oxford Hotel. But one of the lesser-known winners on this decidedly fishy menu are the burgers, which are everything a meat-lovin' man needs: a soft, chewy bun, fresh fixings and a good-sized patty that doesn't turn to boot leather,... The happy-hour menu at McCormick's, the bar that fronts the seafood restaurant in the Oxford Hotel, is a perennial favorite. From 3 to 6 p.m. every day of the week and from 9 to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday and 10 p.m. to midnight Friday and Saturday, McCormick's bar menu features over a dozen $2 dishes, an unbelievably diverse spread of everything from sashimi-quality tuna rolls to crab cakes to respectable cheeseburgers with fries. Although McCormick's wood-accented and well-windowed... More »
First clue that you're in a good seafood restaurant: no ambulances out front. The second? A menu that changes every day, and sometimes twice a night. At McCormick's, the dozens of varieties of sea critters available each day are grouped like some kind of aquatic U.N., by their nationality or ocean of origin. Everything is beautifully fresh, presented simply and treated with great care by a kitchen now in the competent hands of chef Steve Vice. Great crabcakes, crawfish, lobster and classics... More »
Aw, shucks. Long before other seafood restaurants realized that Denverites had the raw courage to slurp down oysters, McCormick's was offering a wide selection of the fresh suckers every day. Even fried, these oysters are pearls: tender, tasty flesh encased in a light cornmeal crust. If the kitchen isn't too busy -- and fat chance of that, since the corner bar is one of the town's popular hangouts -- the cook might even blacken 'em on request. More »
