Brewmaster Drew Huerter turns out several tasty varieties at this brewpub, including the citrus- and coriander-tinged HOPtimal Munition APA, the nutty Homeward Brown ale and the fruity, spicy BrightSide Belgian White. The roster of beer is constantly growing; look for special weekly "Peek-a-Brew" event at which single-batch beer casks are tapped. The brief menu features pizza, burgers and beer-friendly appetizers.

Black Sky Stout Porter's name is a throwback to the old English nomenclature when "stout" was a synonym for "strong" rather than a style unto itself, according to Drew Huerter, Mattingly's brewer. The beer, Huerter imparts, clocks in at a robust but not overpowering 6 percent alcohol and uses "historical [porter] ingredients, such as brown malt and blackstrap molasses."
